My boy passed his grading

karate poster

What a happy kid. He’s so proud of his success. He is now a blue belt, and now it gets challenging. I think they go full-contact now, which will be very interesting with a class full of little kids. He does kyokushin karate, which has a following of something like ten million people around the world. I made him this poster and he has a colour print of it hanging on his wall. As we grow older, not much changes – does it… We all like to feel proud of our successes :)

Postbillpay.com.au to be shut down.

Australia Post has sent out an email announcing that they will be shutting down their online bill paying service due to lack of uptake. From their communication:

Australia Post has recently undertaken an extensive review of the Postbillpay Registered Internet Service and due to the limited uptake and use by customers, we will be withdrawing this service on 30 September 2007. Payments can still be made using the Registered Internet service up to 5pm Friday 28 September 2007.

I have used the service since it launched, it’s a real pity to see it go. It’s been really useful. The question begs asking: If it was a free service, making it cheaper than bpay, why was there no uptake… Maybe they were providing a solution to a problem not enough people knew they had.

What is Twitter?

Nick hodge has the best definition of twitter I have ever come across: He reckons twitter is multiplayer notepad” :D ROTFLMAO

Maroubra battered

The stairs, buried

Maroubra beach took a real beating from the storms that came through over the last two nights. The beach sand washed right up into the road, over the lawns, over the playground, across the car park and right the way up to Marine Parade. This is what the stairs that used to be a four foot drop down to the beach nw look like. I’m sure the council will take a while to get to cleaning up here, as it’s neither a rich area nor a tourist area. I really hope they clean it up as its one of my favourite spots in Sydney.
